About the event
Planting for the Future: Agroforestry in Action
Join us at Vale Ondula for an inspiring and hands-on day as we transform our existing orchard into a thriving agroforestry terrace! Together, we’ll expand the orchard with new trees, plant companion plants, and create nurturing “placentas” to help them thrive. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about agroforestry and permaculture practices while contributing to the regeneration of our land. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or curious beginner, there’s something for everyone to do, learn, and enjoy.
What’s the Plan?
We’ll spend the day getting our hands in the soil, working together to:
Expand the existing orchard into a dynamic agroforestry terrace.
Plant trees and companion plants in a way that mimics nature.
Create “tree placentas” to give our new additions the best start in life.
We’ll balance the work with delicious food and community connection:
Bring a dish to share for a potluck lunch.
A hearty, delicious vegetarian dinner will be provided by us to end the day with joy and gratitude!
What to Bring:
Sturdy shoes and clothes for working outdoors.
Any tools you have handy (spades, shovels, etc.).
A dish to share for the potluck lunch.
Schedule:
📅 Date: Thursday, February 15th
🕙 Time: 10:00 – 19:00
10:00 – 13:00: Morning tree-planting session
13:00 – 14:00: Potluck lunch—bring your favorite dish!
14:00 – 17:00: Afternoon planting and companion work
17:00 – 19:00: A hearty vegetarian dinner provided by us
This day is all about learning, growing, and connecting—both with each other and with the land. You’ll leave with new knowledge, dirty hands, and a full heart (and belly!).
We can’t wait to plant the seeds of a more regenerative future with you.
Let us know if you’re coming so we can plan for dinner—we’d love to see you!
